The device is optional battery operated or mains powered and is used to suction secretions from the head or neck area. The secretions are suctioned for a specific duration. An automatic shut-off function switches off the pump after a maximum operating time of 5 minutes. Manual intervention (earlier shutdown or restart) is possible at any time. LEDs indicate the current operating state.
